The Associate Degree in Business Studies programme is designed to provide prospective students with a solid foundation in business that can be applied to various career paths. Full-time students
The minimum of five subjects for admission must include:

5. 1 or more subjects
Admission to the program requires five CSEC subjects (General Proficiency) at Grades 1, 2, or 3*
OR GCE Ordinary Level- Grades A, B, or C.
*Grade 3 attained in July 1998 or thereafter.
Part-time students
Part-time applicants who do not meet the above criteria and are aged 23 or older must have at least
5 years of work experience to be admitted as mature students.

Outline of Pathways
This Associate Degree in Business Studies caters to a diverse range of individuals, including recent high school graduates and mature learners such as business owners and professionals. it offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time enrollment options. The duration of the programme is two (2) years for full-time students and three (3) years for those opting for part-time study.
Four specialized pathways in Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and International Business were developed to offer students the opportunity to delve deeper into areas of interest that align with the demands of the ever-evolving and highly competitive global workforce.
Course structure:
General Education courses: Seven (7) or 15 credits
Core courses: Fifteen (15) or 45 credits
Pathways: Four (4) options. Students choose two (2) only or 6 credits.

Semester 1
Computer Fundamentals GED 104The course is designed to impart fundamental knowledge of computers and their practical applications. It is structured into 5 units that encompass the essentials of computer systems, hardware, software, and internet/email usage. The hands-on labs are designed to reinforce the concepts covered in lectures and give students the opportunity to practice using the mouse, navigating Windows explorer, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and email.
College Readiness GED 101This course introduces students to basics of tertiary education in preparation for their transition from secondary school to an institution of higher learning. They are expected to complete various modules in time management, critical listening, group working and academic writing.
Communication for Tertiary Purposes GED 102This foundational communication course is designed to introduce students to the communication process, channel and associated theories. It enables them to interpret and analyse verbal and non-verbal cues to critically evaluate various forms of communication in personal, professional, and societal contexts. In addition, it will help students improve their critical thinking and academic writing skills necessary for becoming effective communicators in business organisations.
Fundamental Mathematics GED 103This course introduces fundamental mathematical concepts and techniques relevant to business and economics. It covers a range of topics to help students develop the mathematical skills and understanding necessary for making informed business decisions.

Introduction to Business BUS 101This course introduces students to the principles and concepts in the field of Business which contribute to the effective operation of the organisation. The unit allows the student to explore the dynamics of doing business in the Caribbean and global environment; by exploring the dynamics of marketing, finance, and organisational behaviour.
Financial Accounting I BUS 102This course introduces the students to the fundamentals of basic accounting concepts and procedures with emphasis on the accounting cycle of a sole proprietorship enterprise and accrual accounting for a merchandising firm. Comprehensive problems provide application and reinforcement of the complete accounting cycle, use of business documents, payroll accounting, journals and subsidiary ledgers.

International Business Small Business Managements This course exposes students to the foundational concepts and strategies necessary for the operation of a small business. Introduction to Digital Business BUS 105This course introduces students to fundamental concepts and principles of the emerging field of digital business. Students will explore different aspects of digital business including e-commerce, digital marketing, digital analytics and the associated technologies. As such students will improve their digital literacy skills and be better able to digitise their businesses or better function within a rapidly changing digital workplace.
Fundamentals of Marketing BUS 106This course introduces students to core principles and theories of marketing. It will explore the fundamental elements and strategies used by businesses to identify, attract and retain customers in today’s global, competitive marketplace. Students will develop a solid foundation through the study of marketing concepts, market research, marketing mix, and consumer behaviour; necessary for success in the business environment.
Financial Management BUS 107This course provides an introduction to the precepts of financial management within businesses. Students taking this course will learn about financial analysis, planning, and decision making processes essential for effective financial management. It is a starting point for additional research and exploration into the intricacies of Anguillian life, and is targeted at persons who work in concierge or who interact with visitors on a daily basis. Introduction to Microeconomics BUS 202This course introduces microeconomic issues and concepts such as scarcity, economic resources, demand, supply, elasticity, and market structures. Fundamental tools of economic analysis, such as graphs, equations and models are also introduced. Students are provided with an understanding of how economies function through a blend of economic theories and real-world applications.
Business Communication BUS 203This course introduces students to the basic tenets of workplace communication. Students will be exposed to the preparation of business documents, presentations and intercultural communication for the global environment will also be covered.
Conversational Spanish GED 201This course is designed for students with no prior knowledge of Spanish. Therefore, it aims to develop basic communicative competence in Spanish by equipping students with both the receptive skills (listening, reading) and the productive skills (speaking, writing) to function in a real-life situation where Spanish is used. It is also expected to serve as a foundation course for continued studies in Spanish.
